Dundee manager Neil McCann has been hit with a blow in his bid to sign a goalscorer after he was turned down by Sam Jones.
Dundee and Shrewsbury Town had agreed a five-figure fee and the 26-year-old saw was a Dens Park spectator in the directors’ box on Saturday as McCann’s men went down 1-0 to Aberdeen.
But after considering a switch to the SPFL, he has now returned to the Shrews and trained with John Askey’s squad today.
Although born in Barnsley, he has represented Wales youth at youth level.
Jones only joined the Shrews in January after spells at National League outfit Gateshead and League Two Grimsby Town that saw him among the goals on a regular basis.
