Glen Kamara’s move from Dundee to Rangers has moved a step closer after the Ibrox club made a £50,000 offer for the Finnish midfielder.
Talks between the Dark Blues and Gers have been continuing since the 23-year-old signed a pre-contract agreement with the Glasgow giants at the beginning of the month.
They had, though, been centring on an agreement that would see Kamara move west now and a couple of players head in the opposite direction on loan.
Agreement on exactly who should be heading to Dens Park had become a stumbling block.
With a straight cash offer now on the table, Kamara could be on the move before Thursday’s deadline.
A deal would also give Dundee boss Jim McIntyre the chance to bring in at least one more fresh face before the window closes.
