Raiders smash through back door and ‘rummage’ around Tayside home but don’t take anything

Would-be raiders smashed their way through a glass door at a Tayside home before searching for loot in various rooms.

The break-in happened at the property in Linton Terrace in Perth on Saturday between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.

A double-glazed door at the rear of the house was smashed and the culprit(s) managed to get inside.

Police say nothing was taken from the house, despite them turning over a number of rooms.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Although it doesn’t appear that anything was taken, various rooms were rummaged through and considerable disturbance caused to the house, which was obviously distressing for the residents.

“It is possible that the person(s) responsible may have gone through neighbouring gardens going to or from the house in question.”
