A brewery is still hoping to open its new bar in Dundee before the end of the year.
Work fitting out the proposed St Andrews Brewing Co venue on Shore Terrace began late last week.
The Fife-based brewers had originally set the opening of the new bar, in the Caird Hall’s former arcade complex, for autumn this year.
But the company was forced to reschedule after it was delayed getting on to the site to fit out the premises.
A brewery spokesman said: “We are still hoping for a pre-Christmas opening.
“We were delayed getting on site but now we’re in we would certainly hope to be open by December now.”
The bar will be the fourth in the company’s portfolio, after a branch in St Andrews and two in Edinburgh.
The pub is located next to the ill-fated Brassica restaurant, which opened to much fanfare in June but closed this month after staff walked out in a row over unpaid wages.
The company behind the eatery, Tayone Food Ltd, entered administration last week.
Dundee City Council, which owns the former City Arcades complex where Brassica is based, said it would be inappropriate to comment on the restaurant’s situation.
