Police were called to Fort Street in Broughty Ferry on Saturday afternoon after a road traffic collision.

The incident, which took place at around 5.30pm, happened beside the lifeboat house and involved a car and a cyclist.

A 53-year-old male cyclist was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

One resident said: “I saw a lot of flashing blue lights suddenly go past my window.

“When I looked out I could see a police van and two police cars parked between the lifeboat house and the Fisherman’s pub.

“At first I thought it was the lifeboats going out on a shout, as it’s not unusual so see blue lights down here when that happens.

“But the lifeboat was still docked and officers appeared to be interested in a motorist further up the road.”

A police spokesman said there have been no arrests in connection with the incident.
