Police have sealed off a road in Kirkcaldy in their search for missing teenager Elizabeth Toledo.
Elizabeth, known as Libbi, was reported missing on Monday September 11 at about 1pm.
The 17-year-old went missing from the Smeaton area of Kirckaldy.
This afternoon, a section of Smeaton Road is sealed off while four police officers survey the area.
This coincides with a hastily cancelled press conference, which was due to take place at 2.30pm at Kirkcaldy Police Station and was to include an appeal from Libbi’s mum, Judi.
It was cancelled due to a “significant development” in teh search.
Officers believe Libbi could have been spotted in the Fife town on Friday evening.
A female, matching her description, was seen in in Alison Street at about 7.45pm.
She was wearing a green jacket and blue jeans and was with a man described as in his late 20s or early 30s, with blond hair in a mohawk and wearing a black bomber jacket.
Libbi is described as 5ft 6in tall, of slim build, with dark blonde hair, hazel eyes and sometimes wears glasses.
She has links to the Forfar, Brechin and Arbroath areas of Angus.
Insp Gordon Anderson of Kirkcaldy Police Station said earlier this week: “I’m keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the female we believe may have been Libbi, and the man together in Alison Street or indeed anywhere else on Friday night or at any time over the weekend.
“We are keen to establish if this was Libbi and identify the man, so that we can carry out further enquiries to trace her and ensure she is safe and well.”
Those with information can contact Kirkcaldy Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 177 of 12th September.
