Police are probing the ‘unexplained’ death of a man found in water on the edge of Angus.
Cops and firefighters were sent to the River North Esk near Marykirk, on the Angus-Aberdeenshire border, at about 2.30pm today over concern for a man in the water.
A police statement said: “Sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been advised.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
