Police probe after motorbike ‘dumped’ and set on fire on road this morning

A motorbike was reportedly ‘dumped’ and set alight in Kirkcaldy this morning.

Two police cars and two fire engines attended the incident in Dysart Road, between Netherstreet and the beach at Pathhead.

A spokesperson for Scottish Fire and Rescue said “At 8:43am on Wednesday, September 13, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service received a report of a motorbike on fire in Nether Street, Kirkcaldy.

“Two fire appliances were mobilised to the scene and firefighters extinguished the flames with a high powered hose.

“There were no casualties and crews left after ensuring the safety of the area.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police in Fife were called to Dysart Road in Kirkcaldy at around 8.45am on Wednesday 13 September following reports of a motorbike on fire.

“Police and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and the motorbike was quickly extinguished. No-one was injured as a result of the blaze.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident reference number 0579 of 13 September.”

There are no reports of injuries.
