Police are hunting thieves who took 150 lobsters worth £1,300 from a Fife dock.
The incident happened between 1am and 5am on Monday 22 August.
The lobsters were within a sealed container, which was partly in the water.
Sergeant Craig Fyall, of Levenmouth Police Station, said: “This might seem like a comical incident, but this is a fisherman’s livelihood and he believes the lobsters to be worth around £1,300.
“It’s likely the lobsters were handpicked from the container, so it would’ve been noticeable if anyone left the docks with that amount.
“If anyone remembers seeing anything suspicious, or has any relevant information, please contact police.”
Those with any information should contact Police Scotland on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
