
Armed police were called to St Mary’s after a firearm was discovered inside a property.
Two armed response units descended on St Giles Terrace at around 1pm on Sunday.
An eyewitness said officers could be seen with an evidence bag possibly containing a gun.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland confirmed an air pistol was discovered inside a property.
One local said: “I wasn’t exactly sure what went on.
“I just happened to see the two armed response units pulling up.
“There was just the two armed officers that I saw.
“Other officers were showing them something in a bag that was possibly a gun.”
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police attended at St Giles Terrace, on Sunday after an air pistol was discovered within a house.
“It was taken away by officers and there are no suspicious circumstances.”
