An appeal for information has been issued by police following a number of overnight thefts from homes and a garage on a Dundee street.
Two houses on Bruce Road, Kirkton, were broken into overnight on Saturday or Sunday and items removed.
One of the break-ins occurred while the occupier was asleep within the property. A garage was also broken into by removing a window.
Police also believe the person or people responsible entered a number of gardens of other properties looking for a way to get in.
Garden furniture and bins had been positioned outside several homes as if they were being used as steps to gain access via windows.
Items such as keys, money, tools, a Dell laptop and an emerald green hybrid bicycle are among those which have been reported stolen.
Police have urged the public to take precautionary steps in order to secure their homes – and to get in touch if they believe they have any information that can assist their inquiries.
A spokesman said: “While no property can ever be completely secure, please try to make yours as secure as possible. Keep windows and doors locked overnight or if you’re out at all, and if you have security lights or CCTV, make sure they are in working order.
“Those with information should call 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 500 111, quoting reference CR/4265/19.”
