Police have confirmed they investigating the fire at Braeview Academy.
Firefighters were called to Braeview Academy last night at around 9.40pm with reports of flames reaching 40ft in the air.
Every fire and police crew in the north of the city spent last night tackling the blaze at the secondary school in the Whitfield area.
More than 50 firefighters were attempting to flood the building to dampen down the vigorous flames.

A police statement has confirmed that no one was injured but that a probe has been launched.
Inspector Chris Boath said: “The building was extensively damaged and enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire. A joint investigation with Scottish Fire and Rescue Service will take place in due course.
“Thankfully no-one was injured as a result of the fire’.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the fire or anyone witnessed anything suspicious to come forward.
