VIDEO: Daughter’s heartfelt plea for funds to fly Dundee mum Linda home after heart attack in Turkey

A Dundee bride who was married in America earlier this summer is to forego her wedding reception to raise money to bring her mum home from hospital in Turkey.

And Rebecca Robertson revealed that she has also appealed to comedy star Jason Manford for help.

Rebecca’s mum Linda Lindsay, 59, from Douglas, was rushed to hospital in Antalya after suffering a heart attack when she arrived there on holiday.

She remains in an induced coma in Turkey while her daughter desperately tries to raise enough money to fly her home.

Rebecca, 29, from Stobswell, told the Tele: “We need to raise £35,000 for an air ambulance to fly mum home.

“While she is in hospital in Turkey it’s costing us £2,000 a day just for her bed, before we pay for any treatment.

“I’m desperate to get her home but I don’t have any money to bring her back.”

Rebecca explained she and her husband Danny married in Florida in June without any of her family there.

They were to be holding a party for family and friends on September 23 but instead are hoping to organise a fundraising event before then.

Rebecca said that she and Danny were supposed to be going to see Jason Manford in Dundee on Saturday.

“We’re obviously not going now but I’ve contacted him to see if there’s any way he could help us,” she added.
