Plans to build a block of flats on the site of a car park and derelict land in Dundee city centre have been revealed.

A four-storey block containing a total of 24 homes for social rent would be built at Candle Lane, where car park 9-11 is located.

The plans, drawn up by Jon Frullani Architect, were submitted to Dundee City Council for consideration this week on behalf of Hillcrest Housing Association and Murrayfield Developments.

Mr Frullani said the scheme would provide much-needed accommodation.

“It is common knowledge that there is a demand for social housing in Dundee, so it was identified that this was the best use for the site,” he said.
