PICTURES: Former pupils reunite for one last look around Dundee school

The corridors of Baldragon Academy, previously Kirkton High, were filled with laughter, song, and tales of the past as former pupils, staff and parents visited the Dundee school for one last time before the building closes.

An estimated 1,000 people turned up for the extensive exhibition and guided tours, which were led by current senior pupils and rather senior former pupils.

Among those who attended were classmates who hadn’t seen each other for 40 years, generations of families who attended the school since 1960, and a small number of staff who were there in the very early years.

Sandra Cannon, chairwoman of the planning group, said: “The response from everyone surpassed our wildest dreams.”
