The skies above Dundee were lit up on Sunday night as local people enjoyed a “celebration” of fireworks.
The annual November 5 events at Lochee and Baxter parks were hailed a success with thousands of locals attending the displays despite the near-freezing temperatures.
Each year Dundee City Council chooses a different theme for the display and this year was no different. The theme of the show was “celebration” with pyrotechnics set to the Dundee City of Culture 2023 anthem Over Bridges.
Revellers also enjoyed songs by Olly Murs and Little Mix, celebrating the major concerts both performed at Slessor Gardens in the summer.
In Arbroath, the community group Fireworks for Arbroath organised its third bonfire night display.
This year the community-funded celebrations were moved to RM Condor following concerns that Inchcape Park was too close to a dual carriageway.
Carnoustie also held its traditional torchlight procession on Saturday with a bonfire and fireworks display also on offer.
