Perth city centre could be in line for two new hotels.
Management consultancy company GVA has been commissioned by Perth and Kinross Council to carry out a feasibility study of the area, with a specific focus on “two new-build propositions”.
The £14,000 study follows a 2016 report by GVA, on behalf of the Scottish Cities Alliance, which found there was “good demand” for a business class hotel to service the local corporate and events market.
A council spokeswoman said: “The aim of this feasibility study is simply to get an up-to-date picture of what opportunities exist in Perth for potential future development.”
The council has also struck a £12,950 deal with Edinburgh-based firm Yellow Book to carry out a revision of the Perth City Plan, a document put together in 2015 as a blueprint for development throughout the region over the next 20 years.
