A pensioner was found dead in the road after his mobility scooter toppled over in the Borders.
The 77-year-old was discovered by a member of the public in Hawick yesterday morning.
He had been travelling on the B6359 to Hassendean, near Knowetownhead Townhouse, when the vehicle overturned.
An ambulance was called but the OAP was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Our inquiries continue to establish the full circumstances surrounding his death and we’d urge anyone who may have information which can help to get in touch as soon as possible.”
