A 51-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital with “serious” injuries following an accident near the Kingsway West Retail Park.
Emergency services were called to the Kingsway shortly after 8.30pm on Saturday night after a man was involved in a collision with a car.
A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance service confirmed they dispatched their special operations team to the scene before he was transported to Ninewells Hospital.
Witnesses said there were as many as nine police vehicles in the area while the road was temporarily closed westbound near the Strathmartine roundabout.
A spokesman for the force said: “Police Scotland along with other emergency services attended Kingsway West, near to the retail park about 8.40pm on Saturday, in response to a reported road traffic collision.
“A 51-year-old male pedestrian was involved in a collision with a car.
“He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
“The road required to be closed for a short time to allow for the injured man to be given medical treatment.”
