Fans of Billy Connolly are in for a treat tomorrow night.
Sean Dowling has been honing his ‘Big Yin’ act for nearly a decade and will take to the stage at Monifieth Theatre for charity.
Going by the name of ‘The Other Big Yin’, Sean will dress up as the comedy legend and rattle off some of Connolly’s best known material from the last 50 years.
The “unique show, specially produced” show will benefit RNIB Talking Books.
Absolutely delighted to announce my return to the Monifieth Theatre stage in October. Hope to see as many friendly faces…
Sean has agreed to put on the one night only show to help friend Moira Gee reach a fundraising target of £2,500.
Moira is raising the cash in aid of her author brother Gordon Anthony, who lost his sight due to a genetic condition.
Moira said: “It was after Gordon gave a talk about how he writes his books using specially-adapted computer software that I decided to fundraise for RNIB Talking Books.
“He’s achieved so much despite his affliction that I felt I needed to so something to help.
“I’m grateful for all the support I’ve been fiven and the donations I’ve received.
Posting on social media, Moira said her tally has already exceeded £2,000 and it’s hoped Saturday’s show will edge her closer to the target.
Tickets for the show cost £8 and are available from the Yorkshire Building Society in Broughty Ferry, Troup’s Pharmacy in Monifieth and the Bay Diner.
Doors open at 7.15pm with the show due to start at 8pm.
