A Broughty Ferry councillor has confirmed the caravan that appeared in Panmurefield does not have planning permission.
Laurie Bidwell said he had contacted the council’s planning department and local police officers following complaints from constituents.
He said planning enforcement officers had visited the site, and it had subsequently been confirmed that there had been “unauthorised works”.
Mr Bidwell added: “I have also been advised that no planning permission has been issued by the council for the building of a house or the siting of a caravan.
“Council officers are currently undertaking further investigations. I trust the situation will be resolved as soon as possible.”
A city council spokeswoman said inquiries were ongoing.
