Dundee say they haven’t received any bids for in-form defender Jack Hendry, despite reports of an offer from Celtic.
The 22-year-old has been in superb form for the Dark Blues this season and has attracted interest from English Premier League clubs including Newcastle and Crystal Palace.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has also stated his admiration for Hendry and reports this morning said the champions had tabled a £500,000 bid for the defender.
However, the Dark Blues say they are yet to receive any offers for the former Partick defender and it’s likely it would take more than half-a-million to persuade the club to part with one of their key men.
Speaking after Dundee’s1-0 defeat at Parkhead in October, Rodgers said: “The boy Hendry at the back I thought was excellent.
“He’s quick and strong and is a good size. Scotland need centre halves and that looks like a good kid.
“He’s tall, he can run and he can pass. He looks a talent.”
Hendry joined Dundee in the summer on a free transfer after leaving Wigan Athletic, signing a two-year deal in July.
