NHS Tayside has received a national award for its investment in volunteers.
The health board has been reaccredited with the Investing in Volunteers award by Volunteer Scotland.
NHS Tayside chairman Professor John Connell was presented with the award by Anne Hislop, of Volunteer Scotland.
There are 900 unpaid helpers working for NHS Tayside, on hospital wards or supporting groups.
Prof Connell said: “We’re very fortunate to have so many volunteers who regularly give up their time to help deliver services in hospitals and community settings.
“This award highlights our continued commitment to our volunteers, ensuring they are offered support and training to enable them to carry out their many roles.
“Volunteers are a huge asset to our health and social care services and they are supported by a team of voluntary services managers who provide encouragement and support.”
