A new Spanish tapas-style restaurant is set to open in Dundee’s city centre.
The premises on 15 Ward Road are expected to be transformed into a Spanish-style restaurant named La Cueva.
A banner placed over the front of the property promises the restaurant will be “opening soon”.
The unit is managed by Dundee-based drinks wholesaler JF Kegs, who are in charge of leasing out the unit which has changed hands several times over the last few years.
New owners Louise Curran and partner Jesus Orta Rico are behind the new restaurant.
Louise said: “We are there everyday at the moment and hope to open the bar on Ward Road at the end of the month.”
A spokesman for JF Kegs said Mark Miller, head promoter at music venue company Hunter Hamilton, has been involved in the latest takeover.
La Cueva will become the property’s third incarnation in just three years, after previous attempts to reinvent the unit as both a pub and a buffet restaurant proved unsuccessful.
In 2017 Tom Alison opened the venue as Deacon Brodie’s, but the business lasted last less than a year as it failed to attract customers.
In February last year businessman Scott Townsend took over the premises and launched Stuffed World Buffet, selling a variety of international cuisines.
It closed after just a matter of months.
