Bosses at a leading fashion streetwear and sportswear store are looking forward to opening their fifth store in Scotland in the Overgate tomorrow.
Footasylum announced earlier this month that it would be moving into the shopping complex into one of the vacant units adjacent to Debenhams.
The opening of the unit will see the creation of 18 jobs.
Glen Dickson, head of retail at Footasylum, said he was “looking forward” to the launch of the new store.
He said: “This will be our 46th store nationwide and our fifth in Scotland.
“We are looking forward to opening in Overgate. Our new, well-located unit will give Dundee’s shoppers access to leading sportswear and streetwear brands.”
He added: “Many of these brands will not have been available in the city before.”
The new retailer, which was launched in 2005, will stock a leading number of brands and is a welcome addition to the shopping centre.
Overgate manager Malcolm Angus added: “We are delighted to welcome Footasylum to Overgate.
“The retailer offers the biggest names in sportswear, footwear and urban fashion apparel.
“This latest development is another welcome new addition to Overgate’s strong and diverse retail proposition.”
Tim Allen, board member of the Scottish Chamber of Commerce and former president of the Dundee Chamber of Commerce, previously welcomed the new addition to the city.
He said:“I welcome the Footasylum store and I want to see even more investment in the High Street.
“The Overgate is an important part of the city and this will be great new facility.
“It’s really good news to have more business coming into the city.”
