A new bus service catering for parts of the Tay Bridgehead is likely to continue for the foreseeable future after a trial proved popular.
Moffat & Williamson will keep running its 77b service which was introduced earlier this month.
The pilot scheme followed the withdrawal of a service by Stagecoach in July. Moffat & Williamson stepped in after a well-attended public meeting in Newport.
Another new Moffat & Williamson service, the number 69, has recently been introduced and will serve Cupar, Dairsie, Balmullo, St Michaels, Rathillet, Kilmany, Gauldry, Wormit, Newport and Tayport.
Local Liberal Democrat councillors Jonny Tepp and Tim Brett have welcomed the firm’s commitment to the area.
Mr Tepp said: “A significant number of elderly residents rely on the 77b bus links and I’m particularly pleased for them we’ve been able to maintain the service.”
