A new book commemorating the 150th anniversary of The McManus has been launched.
The McManus: Dundee’s Art Gallery & Museum was created by writer Anna Day and photographer Alan Richardson, who spent large parts of 2017 with the McManus team, community groups and supporters to record the special events and day-to-day running of one of Dundee’s favourite attractions during its celebratory year.
Pictures capture the annual spring clean of artefacts, painting of the gallery walls and exhibitions being installed.
Alan said: “It has been a real privilege to see the dedication, expertise and enthusiasm the team and volunteers have towards art, culture and history.
“I hope the pictures tell part of that story and remind Dundonians that the past should be celebrated as much as the future in our vibrant city.”
Anna said: “I hope the book will serve as a reminder of what was a fantastic year for The McManus it was, and it’s ongoing relevance to the culture and heritage of the city.”
