New signing Kenny Miller is ready for a quickfire introduction to life at Dens Park as he gears up for a debut against Motherwell on Saturday.
The 69-cap Scotland international signed a two-year deal with the Dark Blues on Wednesday, just nine days after leaving his role as Livingston’s player/manager.
And the 38-year-old is in “peak condition” to feature against the Steelmen, according to boss Neil McCann.
Speaking at a Dens press conference, Neil said: “With someone of Kenny’s age and a two-year deal, there’s a worry but he sailed through the medical – he’s in peak condition.
“I’m really happy to get him in.
“I tried to get him before – we had conversations earlier in the summer but couldn’t persuade him to come and I was pleased to see his situation changed and he’s here.
“When he became available again and a deal was possible, I knew the options he had and we had to be patient to get him but I’m delighted he decided to come.”
For his part, former Rangers and Celtic man Miller is determined to help Dundee get themselves off the bottom of the Premiership table.
He said: “I’m looking forward to it – I only faced Motherwell two weekends ago so I know them pretty well!
“Hopefully, I’ll get some kind of involvement in the game on Saturday.
“It has been a busy few days getting everything tied up.
“That’s taken just a wee bit longer and dragged on but I am absolutely delighted it’s at an end now.
“Hopefully, I will be involved in the game on Saturday. After missing just one game, I am really keen and eager to get back into action.”
