The mum of a Dutch artist murdered in Dundee for £10 wants to find a home for his final piece of art.
John Styles, 21, killed Jeroen Van Neijhof, 38, just days after he had been granted bail for carrying heroin and an offensive weapon.
He was stabbed to death at his in Brown Constable Street in the city’s Stobswell area on May 23.
Those offences happened while he was on bail for robbing a female student at knifepoint. Styles then robbed Jeroen of £10.
Jeroen’s mother, Yvonne Van Essen, said her son’s final work was a 5ft statue of Edinburgh’s Scott Monument which he was dedicating to her.
The art was found in his flat and Yvonne wants it to remain in Scotland.
She said: “Jeroen loved that monument. The statue is too big for me to take back to Holland but I’d love it to go to a charity.
“It would be a dream come true for Jeroen. He really loved Scotland.”
