McGill workers called to meetings in Dundee and Edinburgh amid job fears

Independent contracting firm McGill has arranged a meeting for staff amid fears for the future of the company.

Workers have been asked to attend a 2.30pm gathering at the Apex Hotel in Dundee’s City Quay. At the same time staff are meeting at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel at Edinburgh Airport.

In recent days there have been rumours circulating in the city that the firm faces problems.

The firm employs about 450 staff, with 200 in Dundee and the rest in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The company works across commercial, residential and the education and healthcare sectors and has been involved in a number of high-profile building projects including Dundee’s Olympia Leisure centre.

The firm, headquartered in Harrison Road, has been operating for more than 30 years.
