Man who had hundreds of indecent images of kids avoids jail

Philip Ritchie has been spared jail

A man who had indecent images of boys in swimming trunks has avoided jail.

Police also found adult-sized school uniforms and a room in the home of Philip Ritchie  decorated like a 1960s classroom.

Officers confiscated a laptop belonging to the 58-year-old which contained 576 indecent images of kids.

Many of the photographs on the computer showed boys posing in swimwear, the Evening Express reports.

At Aberdeen Sherff Court, he previously pled guilty to taking, permitting to be taken or making indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children between November 4 2016 and June 20 2017.

Ritchie, whose address was given in court papers as High Street, Banff, was ordered to carry out 190 hours of unpaid work within nine months and will be under supervision for three years.
