A man has sustained a serious facial injury after being assaulted at a caravan park.
Police spent several hours at Thrums Caravan Park at Maryton by Kirriemuir following the incident.
Witnesses reported multiple police vehicles in attendance and the site was sealed off yesterday.
One Maryton resident, who stays nearby, said: “This is very unusual here because it is so quiet normally. There was obviously something major happening with such a big police presence.
“I saw the police go into the site and I saw them towing a white transit van away on the back of a truck.”
Officers left the scene by late afternoon.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland attended at Maryton, Kirriemuir after a man had been seriously assaulted. He has been taken to hospital. Inquiries are ongoing.”
The caravan site has 16 residential pitches and the site licence was transferred last year to M B Developments from Blairgowrie.
