Man rushed to Ninewells after serious accident closes local road in both directions

A man has been rushed to hospital following a serious road crash on the road between Alyth and Blairgowrie.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed that one man had been taken to hospital in Dundee following the accident on the A926 late this morning.

She said: “This has been a serious accident.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 1051 hours today to attend a road traffic collision on the A926 between Airlie and Blairgowrie.

“We dispatched two ambulances, a manager, the trauma team and a paramedic response unit to the scene.

“Two patients were transported to Ninewells Hospital.”

The road was closed in both directions.
