Police were forced to close the Tay Road Bridge for more than an hour late on Sunday night after concerns were raised for a male.
Officers shut off the crossing in both directions around 10.15pm after the man was spotted acting suspiciously.
Members of the Broughty Ferry RNLI were called out to assist police officers, however they were not required.
The man was taken into the care of police officers and the road bridge reopened to all traffic at 11.25pm
Police Scotland confirmed the man was safe and well.
