A 27-year-old man has been arrested following an alleged brawl near a Dundee lay-by.
Shocked onlookers said a red vehicle had “screeched” into a parking space near The Kettledrum Bar on South Road before a fight ensued between the driver of the car and another man.
Police Scotland confirmed a man has been charged in connection with incidents on South Road and Forth Crescent.
One eyewitness said that the driver of the car brandished a baseball bat at the other man, who had been walking past accompanied by a woman.
She said: “It all happened very suddenly.
“The red car had screeched into the lay-by near the pub.”
The eyewitness said an altercation then took place between the two men.
She added: “The whole thing went on for about five or 10 minutes.
“The woman who was there was in her late 40s or possibly early 50s.
“The driver ran back to his car and pulled out a baseball bat.
“The bat was never used but the guy certainly went back towards him with the bat.
“There was a lot of shouting during the altercation, though it was unclear what they were saying.
“The driver – who I would have placed in his mid-20s – got back into his vehicle and drove away in the direction of Arran Drive.
“I was certainly shocked to see that type of incident, especially during the day.”
A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed that a man had been charged following the incident.
He said: “We can confirm a 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with incidents on South Road and Forth Crescent on Tuesday.
“He has been released from custody on an undertaking to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court at a later date.”
