Police have launched an investigation after a man was attacked and robbed of his bike in a Dundee street.
The 23-year-old victim was walking along the city’s Princes Street with his bicycle when he was approached by a man in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The culprit engaged him in conversation before carrying out his assault. He then made off in the direction of Arbroath Road and was then seen heading towards the Douglas area.
No description of the attacker has been released. The bike is described as a white Mongoose BMX with a sticker on the frame and has black handlebars.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland added: “The man was walking in Princes Street, Dundee at around 1am on Saturday 27 August when he was approached by man who engaged him in conversation. The man was thereafter assaulted and the suspect made off with his bike. The victim did not require hospital treatment.
“Anyone with any information that may be useful should contact Tayside Police on 0300 111 2222, or any police officer. Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
