A man has been arrested by police following a major incident at a Dundee golf course.
Police swooped on Caird Park around 4pm today following reports of an alleged assault.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland would only confirm the arrest and would not comment further.
She said: “One male has been arrested and is assisting officers.
“Inquiries are ongoing.”
The incident forced the closure of the golf course, Golf Dundee announced, with lessons and games for tonight pulled.
At least twelve police units were said to have descended on the area with vehicles parked on the grass central reservation on the Kingsway.
As a result, long tailbacks were reported on the main route.
A Leisure and Culture spokesman said they were aware of the police incident and advised it would be inappropriate to comment further.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Because of nature of incident, all we can say is we are in attendance, but it is a police matter.”
