A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a local man at the weekend.
He was later named as John Donachy.
A police statement this morning said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 35 year old man has been arrested in connection with the death of John Donachy in Alyth, Perth and Kinross.”
The area is no longer sealed off but a police car and vehicle command unit remains in the area this morning.
Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Patrick said: “Officers will be continuing enquiries in Alyth over the coming days, which will include undertaking searches of the local area, along with house to house and a review of CCTV.
“I would again like to thank the local community for their patience whilst we carry out this work.’
