A man has been arrested after three shops in the Dundee area were targeted by an armed robber.
William Hill on Buttars Loan in Charleston, Ladbrokes on the city’s Perth Road, and the ScotMid shop on Invergowrie’s Main Street were all hit yesterday.
Police believe all three incidents are linked.
The William Hill was the scene of the first incident around 1.35pm. Officers say the Ladbrokes shop was the next to be targeted around 1.50pm before the ScotMid store at 2.05pm.
In all three instances, a man is alleged to have entered the stores and presented a knife at staff before demanding money.
A 37-year-old man has since been arrested and is assisting police with their inquiries.
Detective Sergeant Keir Smith, Dundee CID, urged anyone with information to get in touch.
He said: “Our investigation is at an early stage, and officers will be back in the relevant areas today conducting inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage.
“We would urge anyone who witnessed these incidents, were in the immediate vicinity, or drove through those areas and may have dashcam footage, to contact us.
“In particular, we would like to hear from anyone who saw a man at any of the three locations, described as in his late 30s, about 5ft 6in of medium build, wearing a blue hoody, high viz jacket and a black balaclava.”
