Man appears accused of raping young child in car in Dundee

A man has appeared in court accused of two rapes and an indecent assault on a child.

John Dye, 48, of Goosecroft, Forfar, appeared in private at Dundee Sheriff Court before Sheriff Lorna Drummond on a petition.

It is alleged that, between 1993 and 1997, at an address in Kirkton, Dundee, and at another unknown address in Kirkton, Dundee, he behaved in a lewd, indecent and libidinous manner towards a primary-school aged child.

He is further accused of, between the same dates and at the same places, raping the same child and on another occasion, picking the child up in a car and raping the child in a car.

Dye made no plea and was granted bail.

The case was continued for further examination.
