A man is to stand trial accused of going into a council office armed with knives – then threatening staff before “showing images of the Illuminati and haemorroids” to workers.
Thomas Barczynski faces two charges at Dundee Sheriff Court over the bizarre alleged incident at Dundee East Housing Office in the city’s Pitkerro Road on October 26 last year.
It is alleged that he behaved in a threatening and abusive manner, repeatedly threatened to stab and kill people, then showed images of the Illuminati – the name given to various secret groups alleged to conspire to control world affairs – and haemorroids to workers.
A second charge alleges that he had in his possession offensive weapons, namely four knives and a baton
Defence solicitor Ross Donnelly said: “There’s very little capable of agreement in relation to the weapons charge here.
“His defence is one of reasonable excuse.”
Barczynski, 45, a prisoner at HMP Perth, denies two charges on indictment.
Sheriff Alastair Carmichael continued the case to a trial date in March.
