Man was aggressive to Dundee takeaway workers after demanding a free kebab

Lewis Anderson, 20, of Park Avenue, was fined £225 by Sheriff Gillian Martin-Brown.

Anderson admitted that on June 25, at Kohenoor Takeaway, Beauly Avenue, he acted in a racially aggressive manner, which caused fear and alarm or distress to Salman Shareef and Sadiq Iqball, employees there, shouted and swore and uttered racially abusive remarks.

The court heard Anderson was seen by staff to be under the influence and he approached them and demanded a free kebab.

When Anderson’s demand was turned down and he was asked to leave, he refused and became aggressive, started shouting and swearing at the two men and racially abusing them.

Solicitor Theo Findlay told the court Anderson was “thoroughly ashamed of himself.”

He added: “He can’t remember anything about it, he had been drinking with a friend that evening”.
