Dundee Contemporary Arts ban for man accused of threatening staff

The DCA

A man has been banned from entering Dundee Contemporary Arts (DCA) ahead of a court appearance in April.

At the city’s sheriff court, Frank Watt, of Tulloch Court, denied that he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm and acted in an aggressive manner at DCA on Tuesday.

He allegedly repeatedly shouted and swore, repeatedly uttered threatening remarks and repeatedly refused to leave when asked to do so by employees.

Watt also denies failing to give identification to police, behaving in a disorderly manner, and refusing or failing to leave DCA when asked to do so by PC Andrew Barrie.

Trial date was fixed for April 30, with an intermediate diet to be held on April 10.

Thirty-one-year-old Watt was granted bail with the special condition that he does not enter the DCA until completion of the court proceedings.
