A man has appeared in court charged with robbing a wheelchair-bound Dundee woman – and cutting off her hand.
Stephen Brisbane, 33, made no plea to the accusations at the High Court in Glasgow today.
It is claimed he entered the home of Sandra McGowan on South Road “uninvited” on February 14.
Brisbane is said to have stolen a number of items including a mobile phone and door fob.
He is then alleged to have assaulted the 62-year-old causing her to fall from her wheelchair.
Prosecutors claim he grabbed her wrist and severed her right hand with a knife, robbing her of a ring. Miss McGowan is said to have fallen unconscious.
Brisbane, of no fixed abode, also allegedly did not get medical help.
The charge states he attacked Miss McGowan to her severe injury, permanent disfigurement and impairment as well as to the danger of her life.
Lord Mulholland continued the case until next month.
