A man remains seriously injured in hospital following an alleged chainsaw attack in a Dundee park.
Police were called to Caird Park golf course at around 4pm on Wednesday.
When they got there, a 67-year-old man was found to have suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
A statement from Police Scotland read: “Officers attended a report of a male, allegedly in possession of a chainsaw, within Caird Park
“A 44 year old male was traced and arrested on suspicion of assault. No other persons are sought in connection with this incident.
“Inquiries are currently ongoing.”
Around a dozen police vehicles raced to the scene with officers parking on the central reservation of the Kingsway causing huge delays in the lead up to rush hour.
As a result of the incident, Caird Park golf club was forced to close and planned golf lessons and games were called off.
