Households in the local area were left high and dry due to a burst water main.
Homes in the DD2, PH2 and PH14 postcode areas were without water for hours due to the issue.
Locals reported water did not flow to their properties from around 4pm yesterday.
Service did not resume until around 11pm for some after engineers worked through the night to fully fix the issue.
Scottish Water issued a statement at 7.25am today declaring the issue had been fully resolved and all properties should have services back to normal.
A spokesman for the firm said: “Repairs on the burst water main affecting Longforgan and Inchture are now complete.
“Following the repair on our network, you may experience some discoloured water.
“This discolouration is quite common after there has been some kind of a disruption to the water main in which this natural sediment lies in.
“We appreciate that this doesn’t always look nice and can be concerning for customers. We advise letting your cold water tap run at half pressure until your water runs clear again.
“We apologise again for the inconvenience this has caused and thank you.”
