A local woman is to appear in court accused of scamming £34,000 in benefits in four years by pretending to be a single mum.
Jaclyn Petterson is alleged to have been “knowingly concerned in fraudulent activity” between April 6 2012 and March 31 2016.
Prosecutors say she raked in £34,323.41 to which she was not entitled by claiming to be a single parent who lived alone with her children and had no partner living with her.
It is alleged that, in fact, she was living with David Henehan and receiving financial assistance from him – meaning she was fraudulently receiving working tax credit and child tax credit.
Petterson, 35, of Dronley Avenue, Muirhead, did not appear at Dundee Sheriff Court to face the single charge on summary complaint under the Tax Credits Act 2002.
Sheriff Tom Hughes continued the case without plea until February.
