A lecturer is preparing to take part in the world’s largest all-female expedition to Antarctica.
Dr Beth Christie, from Carnoustie, is to embark on a three-week sea voyage to the southern hemisphere as part of the Homeward Bound project.
Homeward Bound is a leadership, strategic and science initiative for women, set against the backdrop of Antarctica.
It aims to increase the influence and impact of women with a science background in global decision- making.
It has set a target of sending 1,000 women from around the world to Antarctica, with the first 76 setting off in December.
Dr Christie is a member of the second cohort, departing this month.
