Plans have been submitted for a new wild camping site in Angus, offering night-time nature tours, as well as fishing in a private loch.
The owners of Foresterseat Caravan Park in Forfar hope to develop a 1.9-hectare section of field, next to the park, which sits in the heart of the Lunan Valley, five miles outside Forfar and 10 miles from Arbroath.
The company had originally planned to develop the whole 10-hectare field but the plan was revised to include just a small part of the site, 400 metres west of the steadings at Reswallie.
In a supporting statement, the owners said they believed the site would help “enhance the tourism experience” in Angus and meet the growing demand for casual and wild camping in a “managed way”.
The field will include a small loch, which will be stocked with native brown trout.
The boundary of the site will be planted with native species of shrubs and trees to provide shelter and privacy to campers.
