Police claim to have made a breakthrough in their investigation after a 14-year-old girl was knocked down in a hit-and-run incident.
Police appealed for information about a road traffic collision which happened at around 11.50am Monday in Crieff Road, Perth, near the entrance to McDiarmid Park.
Following the incident, the driver was seen to pull into a layby about 50 yards away, get out of the car and look back, then drive off.
He did not check on the welfare of the girl, and had not reported the incident to police.
A police statement said: “We can advise that in relation to the road traffic collision on Crieff Road, Perth on Monday involving a grey car and a 14 year old girl.
“The driver of the car involved has now been traced, and relevant enquiries are continuing.
